Rusty Hodge, Music Director, Suburbs of Goa
In addition to being the music director for Suburbs of Goa, I am the founder of SomaFM. I program music for several SomaFM channels, including Groove Salad, Secret Agent, Drone Zone, Space Station Soma and Digitalis.
I have a lot of "world beat" music in my collection, some of it that I've played on my other stations like Groove Salad and Secret Agent. But I wanted to put together a channel that really focused on the music coming from East Asia, but not just Desi music. Hence the "suburbs" name... the music that's focused on that region, but also includes music from neighboring areas that fit together sonically.
