(Version 1.2.3 Updated January 6, 2012)
SomaFM's official player for Android is now available, giving you direct access to 20 year-round (plus seasonal holiday) channels of listener-supported, commercial-free, underground/alternative radio.
You can view and pick stations by Popularity, Genre or just see your favorites; See the title and artist of the currently playing and last 10 songs played. You can also bookmark favorite songs for purchase on Amazon or emailing to your friends. You can share what you're listening to on Twitter, via email or text message.
There's also a section for SomaFM news and happenings.
If you're on 3G or WiFi, you have access to our high quality 128k MP3 streams or AAC-HE streams which sound amazing... higher quality than many of the other "big" internet radio services out there. And our low bandwidth 32k aacPlus streams work on slower cell networks, and still sound as good as 128k MP3 streams in most cases.
Be sure to include your Android version and model of your phone.
Hi. Somafm seems to installed on my Android Virgin Mobil LG Phone, and it says it is playing, but I cannot here ANY sound at all. Please help! -- Jessica Meridith, February 16, 2012 at 4:54aHi there, I bought the app but it fails to download. I suspect this may be because I'm behind a firewall which has restrictions on ports which are accessible, please could you help? If you can send me a link to the installer, that would be great. I assume I have only been charged once for the app, but if you could confirm that I'd appreciate it, thanks. Dominic -- Dominic, February 14, 2012 at 2:46aYou should be able to download it again from the Android Market. We don't control that, Google does, so we can't help you, sorry :-(

After updating to version 1.2.3, the application no longer works for me. My phone is HTC Inspire. When I first open up the app and select a station, it just says "Buffering" forever until I escape out of it (It went on for several minutes). When I hit the "play" button, either nothing happens, or it just says "buffering" forever again. Also- would be really nice to have an "exit" button. Thanks. -Josh -- Josh Crabtree, January 12, 2012 at 4:41a Thank you for the feedback. We are looking into these issues and will release an update soon.
Could you put this app in the Barnes and Noble Nook store? I would certainly purchase it and use it. -- Wayne Wylupski, January 10, 2012 at 11:42a We are looking into this and hope to have it there soon.
Hi, Is there any interest in selling the SOMA FM application for Google TV? I'd be happy to volunteer to side-load it and test it if that was something. Dell Streak on Android 2.2 with version 1.2 Stuck on Buffering for all channels via wifi* and 3G. *No issue on wifi, as laptop/desktop able to stream over router.
