SoundExchange: Please make your website usable!

Dear SoundExchange;

Could you please redo your website to make it usable? That means, use HTML not Flash. Make it so there are actual URLs to different sections of your site. Make it so my back button works. Make it so I can increase or decrease the font size. Make it so you can actually find what you need on it.

It's a nightmare trying to get the forms we need (not to mention the information we need) off your site.

Thanks

Amen. It's a nightmare of usability. I would also provide a way for artists to provide links to playlists or other documentation showing what online airplay their music was receiving or an easy way to communicate with SoundExchange personnel regarding same.

We hear you loud and clear. We are currently redesigning the site so that it is easier to navigate. Our goal is to have it up and running before September 1st.

As regards Sythemjim's comment: the PLAYS database does list all tracks reported to us by services indexed by artist, title or label. It is easy to send messages to SoundExchange staff from the PLAYS database whether to correct information (some users incorrectly report to us) or to ask questions about repertoire.

Best regards,

John Simson

That's great to hear John. I was eventually able to find all the forms I needed. But when another webcaster asked me where to get the same files, it wasn't easy at all to explain.

Thanks for actually listening to all the feedback.
